Haircut

I was trimming Alexa's hair, and her head moved right when I snipped...well, let's just say that it got cut a lot shorter than I was planning on. I was really worried, but it turned out a lot better than I thought it would. It is a nice change and she looks so cute. :) Luckily all mistakes don't turn out bad!

Thanksgiving in St. George

We switch off every year with both families for Thanksgiving, and this year we had Thanksgiving with the Krommenhoeks. We went to St. George for Sara and nephew Samuel's soccer tournament, and decided to make a fun trip out of it! We stayed at Jeff's boss' condo, which was really nice. We had a full weekend of Celebrating Thanksgiving, Soccer, Swimming, the mini "narrows", hanging out, & some more Soccer! It was great to get away to warmer weather, and to get a chance to spend some quality time together!

Dress-Up

Can I tell you how much I enjoy babysitting Katie and Sharon once a week?! It has been such a good experience. Alexa is at the perfect age to really enjoy something like this, because she gets to play with friends an entire day! She learns a lot by having them around. Sharon teaches her how to be around a baby, and Katie teaches her how to play like a big girl! She has learned to love dress-up, make-believe, oatmeal, and all sorts of games that I haven't thought to play with her yet. These pictures show the dress-up clothes that Katie brought to share with Alexa...I can't even remember how many times they switched outfits. They also played "baby bear" in the "cave" in between the couches!

Alexa is just so happy when she gets to play with Katie. I wish you could hear how she says Katie's name, it is so cute.

Giddy-Up!

These are some fun pictures from after last Friday's Horse lesson. It was a really fun lesson because we were finally taught how to TROT! It was great! My favorite part was when my teacher held on to our horse with a rope and we trotted around in a circle without using our hands...we had to hold out our hands like we were flying! I felt like the girl on the movie FLICKA! It was a great feeling! :) Alexa had a great time at the stables. She gets so excited when we get to my lessons. She made a cute, loud inhale of breath (what she does when she can't contain her excitement). She loved feeding the horses. My Mom is really enjoying riding her horse, Gideon, bareback(but with a pad so she doesn't get all dirty and sweaty, of course) so she let Alexa and I walk on him bareback to his stable. It was fun, but weird not to feel secure in the stirrups and all.

On Saturday, my Mom took Tyler and I out with the horses! I have really wanted Tyler to experience some of the fun I've been having with my lessons--he was a pro. It took a little bit to get all the horses all saddled up--which I am happy to say that I finally feel like I have that down...finally! We got warmed up for a little while, and then went out to the nearby apple orchard and hayfield. It was the perfect weather, and it was fun having Tyler there. Thanks Mom, if it wasn't for you, we wouldn't have a chance to do this.

(click on any of the pictures to see them better, Alexa makes some great faces!)

Tagged

Well, I've been tagged by Kelli. I am supposed to tell SIX things about myself, so here I go.

1-I have secretly dreaded being tagged (thanks Kelli). I actually was tagged once before, by Jamie, right when I started my blog...but I ignored it, and here is why :) I read about other people who have been tagged, and I am like "wow, they are interesting...I can't think of anything interesting about myself...I live a pretty boring life I guess..." So I am actually going to do this...

2-I love the color GREEN. It took me awhile to realize this, but it has such a good feeling about it. It is relaxing and is just pleasant to look at. :) My whole house would be green if it weren't for Tyler...he helps me to add a little variety. I do enjoy other colors, each individual color has good things about it, but I can always rely on green! (...is there a song about green yet?...There is one about blue and another about yellow...?)

3-I have always been a nail biter...but I have finally stopped for good! I have always hated my nasty habit, but I thought it was a lost cause because I had tried and failed so many times throughout my life. My parents once offered me $10 per fingernail that could be seen from the back of my hand(does that make sense?)...but that didn't even do it. I tried the gross tasting nail polish...etc. I think that Tyler has been my motivation and help (he probably doesn't realize this though). I have almost stopped more times since I have been married to him than in the years prior. But now I am done with that habit, and am enjoying my hands for once in my life!

4-I don't know anything about make-up. I wear a little because it makes me feel a little nicer & prettier :) but I really have no clue. I don't like the feel of a lot of make-up on my face, so maybe that is why I have never learned. So, if you look at me and say, "Kristi always looks the same" or "I wish that I could give her a tip or two"...bring it on! I would love to hear your advice and help!(luckily my sister Kaci is a licensed make-up artist now!)

5-I love to cook. I am still learning, but I really do enjoy learning and perfecting my cooking. It is a great feeling to make something and have whoever is eating it really enjoy it. It makes me happy. I especially love making a meal here at home and Tyler finishes the meal by saying, "Wow, that has to be one of my favorite meals!" (It motivates me to try and find a new dish that will 'wow' him again...silly, I know) I especially love to Bake.

6-I love being a Mom. I have really enjoyed all the steps in my life, especially marrying Tyler and having Alexa. I feel like I have learned so much about myself and Life. I sure do appreciate people and things a lot more. Being a Mom has been one of the hardest things I have ever done, but I am constantly being rewarded by having this sweet little girl along side me all the time. Tyler and Alexa make my life so joyful and meaningful.

Okay, now I am excited for this part--I tag Mel, Lisa, Amber, Dallas, Jamie, & Heidi...Tag, You're it!

Jeff & Amber's House

We went over to Jeff and Amber's new, beautiful home this past weekend. We had such a good time. We had pizza, caramel apples, played cards, and watched Transformers--good show!

Try and guess who did what caramel apple...(everyone made their own, and then each couple did another one!)

We always have fun hanging out with Jeff and Amber. Alexa likes to play with you both (and eat your popcorn, and look at your fish). Thanks for letting us come hang out with you in your new home. We LOVE your home.

Happy Halloween!

Our Halloween was really fun! Alexa wanted to dress-up as a cat all day long. We had fun going for a walk and playing outside, making popcorn balls, and getting ready for the evening. Tyler came home early so that we could carve pumpkins before the trick-or-treating began. We had a fun time doing that. We got Alexa dressed up in her Cowgirl attire and Tyler and her set off to go Trick-or-Treating! She loved it! It was so cute, when she got home she wanted to share all her candy...what a great 'halloween spirit' to have :)
