Backpacking Trip

Ty is the 11 year old scout leader

...lucky 11 year olds!  He is so good at his calling and loves it!...

They went on an overnight backpacking trip

Looks like fun, doesn't it?!

I told him he needs to take us next :)

"...the greatest fun spot you'll ever know!..."

That's right!  We made it to Cherry Hill this year

with my Dad and some of the Krom Clan!

It was a blast as  usual!

It was a bummer that Tyler couldn't make it because of work,

but we had fun for him :)

We worked with my Dad in the morning,

and then headed to CHERRY HILL!

...but then she quickly made up for it :)

Is Twenty-Seven Old?

Twenty-seven sounds pretty old to me...

no, it's not thirty or forty...but I'm getting up there :)

But, I am totally okay with turning twenty-seven

for a couple of reasons!

One-Tyler is always four years older...so at least I'm not thirty-one, right?! :)

Two-I feel GREAT.  Better than I probably ever have!

Excited to grow and learn this upcoming year.

We went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner,

and then just hung out in the evening in our backyard!

I had a great birthday!

Karli is TWO

Our cute little Karli turned TWO on Father's Day this year!

We celebrated on Saturday

so that we could just focus on her!

She opened her presents and

went to Wheeler Farm in the morning,

and then after her nap, we went swimming!

We had a really FUN, FULL day!

In the car ride over, Karli said that

she was most excited to see the pigs!

Well, her wish was granted...

On her real birthday, Sunday, we had a party with the Krommenhoeks

for Father's Day and to celebrate the June birthday's!

Karli you are such a joy in our family!

You are so fun, you love to tease, you love your big sister,

you are so busy and into everything!

You are our little monkey or our "oo-oo-ah-ah!"

allergic to green peppers?

Today, Alexa informed me that she doesn't like green peppers,

that she is allergic to them.  :)

However, one of her favorite meals

(that we were eating when she told me of her allergy)

has green peppers in it.

She also said, "Mom, I love this 'meal' a lot more than you do...

I like it 36 times..."

"I like it as much as Ni Hao Kai Lan!"
(because she considers this meal Chinese)

I love what comes out of her mouth.

I also really love when she enjoys dinner so much! :)

So I will quickly share the simple recipe that my family likes so much!

(I found this recipe in my married student ward up at USU

...and we still enjoy it)

3-4 chicken breasts

1 green pepper, chopped

1 onion, chopped

1 cup ketchup

2 Tbsp Worcestershire Sauce

2 Tbsp Brown Sugar

optional-dash of salt, dash of pepper

Cut chicken in small pieces, and fry in pan until browned. 

Add chopped onion and green pepper.

Cook in skillet for 5 minutes.

When done, add the rest.

Simmer for 30 min.

Serve over rice.

Wow, the weather has FINALLY warmed up

...for the summer(fingers crossed)!

It has been nice getting outside a lot more!

There is so much to do when the weather is nice!

We play hard and have a lot of fun...

and the girls are pretty worn out by the end of the day

but are having a BLAST with it all!
