Happy Seven

On Saturday, Tyler and I celebrated our
SEVEN YEAR ANNIVERSARY!
We had a great day!
We went cross-country skiing,
and then ate dinner at one of our favorites-Tepanyaki!

Just some funny pictures we took...nope...not serious...

We really had the perfect day!
The weather was perfect.
The snow was perfect.
The company was perfect.
I love you Ty.

Recent December Happenings

SNOW! This top picture pretty much sums up how Alexa feels about playing in it!  She loves it, and loved her time with Daddy making snowmen!  Two Snowmen...or snowgirls "Alexa" and "Karli"...cute!

We attended out ward Christmas party last weekend...it was done so well!  Everyone was asked to dress up in Biblical attire...Karli wouldn't wear anything special, but Alexa dressed as Mary with her own baby Jesus!  We had a great time!

December is the month for parties!

We also had a good time at the Jeppson family party...Tyler's Grandparents put on a Christmas party.
Here are Alexa and Karli with some of their cousins Nathan and Jared.

Alexa and Nathan sure have fun together...Nathan said to me as they were playing, "I love Alexa!"

A Visit With Santa

On Saturday we went to our city library for a fun morning with Santa!
The pictures show how it went...Alexa had a blast sitting on Santa's lap and telling him what she wanted to get for Christmas, but Karli wasn't too happy to sit on his lap---great picture, ha ha!
There were fun crafts for the kids, and pretty music played on harps!
We had a great time!

Sugar and Spice, and Everything Nice

It is wonderful having girls!
Our days are full of
fairies and princess,
make-believe and dancing!
Maybe one day we'll have a boy, but for now I'm going to just enjoy this!
It is so much fun :)

Starfall

We stayed at Nicci and Keith's house while in Arizona for Thanksgiving
---THANK YOU for taking all of us in!---
and they introduced us to a great website that I have to share!

Alexa has enjoyed it so much just today! She thinks it so cool that she gets to "play" on the computer, and she is learning and practicing all of her ABC's!

Thankful for Arizona

This time of year is the perfect time to go somewhere nice and warm...like ARIZONA! We went for a family reunion on my mom's side of the family! It was so much fun! Our Heywood cousins did a wonderful job with the "Johnson Family Round-up!"
This little "train" was a hit with all the kids...Alexa was on it the majority of the time! Karli really liked it, but not as much as she enjoyed just wandering freely around the park! There was also a REALLY FUNNY "fake" rodeo, and carnival games! Thanksgiving dinner was also AMAZING! We are so glad that we were able to go! It's always great seeing these cousins that we don't get to see very often.

The last night we were in AZ, we visited the Mesa Temple to see the lights...it's so nice not having to be all bundled up and freezing to enjoy lights at the temple! Gotta love Arizona!

hanging out with Jade

We had the chance to hang out with my brother Jeff's little girl Jade one day...it was a lot of fun! She is such a good girl...very easy to take care of! She is about two months younger than Karli. They are going to be the best of friends being the only girl cousins their age (just like Mika is Alexa's only girl cousin her age).
We hung out at my parents house since our house is in the process of being painted!...yipee!

Halloween Fairies!

Our family had a great Halloween Day!
In the evening, Grandma and Grandpa Shelley
came over for dinner and to see our little fairies.
Trick-or-treating was really fun with both of our girls!
Karli was so excited...I don't know how she knew what was going on so well...she even kept her costume on until it was time to go to bed!...and, yes, that is a headband on her head! Can you believe it?! She kept it on all night! We probably won't see that ever happen again :)

We ran into Alexa's little friend Merry while going down our street...so we finished the evening with her, her brother, and her mom! They looked so cute! I couldn't get over how fun it was watching the little fairies run to each house.
We were going to take Karli in after a few houses, but she wouldn't have that...she was loving it! Both of our girls LOVE Halloween...the whole idea of dressing up and candy is a pretty fun concept I guess!

shout out to ABBY

I LOVE Abby on Biggest Loser...WOW, talk about an inspiration!
I don't think that I had dry eyes on any of the shows this season because of her!
She lost her husband, her 5 year old daughter, and her baby in a car accident.
She went through way too much, but came out a winner!
She is so loving and positive, and everyone loves her.
What a great example!
She got voted off this week, and I thought deserved a shout out.

Poor black team...total underdogs...I usually tend to cheer for the ones not winning...

Once upon a Fairytale

We really enjoy HaLLoWEen!
And have a lot of fun dressing up for it!
We have fun parties every year with at least one side of our family,
so we try to get creative.
Last year we went more
TRADITIONAL HALLOWEEN
with our costumes
since Alexa wanted to be a witch
and Karli had a pumpkin costume already.
Tyler and I ended up being Frankenstein and Frankenstein's wife...

This year we went a little more
HAPPILY EVER AFTER :)
Alexa decided to be a fairy,
so of course, Karli gets to be a fairy too!
...so what could Tyler and I be to go along with fairies...
Ever heard of the frog and the princess?

(the pictures aren't the best, a few technical difficulties...but you get the idea!)

Here is a link to my family's blog with other really fun costumes from the party!

fall is in the air

This past Saturday was dedicated to our yard.
Getting it ready for the winter by clearing out and cleaning up...
It is a sad day to have no more garden after enjoying it so much
through the spring and summer.
It is exciting to think about the fun things we get to look forward to
through the fall and winter...especially holidays....
every season has its own beauty and fun,
but we especially love to think about what we are
going to do when it finally warms up again :)

MonStEr dRinK

Alexa decided that she wanted a "MONSTER DRINK"
(I promise that this was totally thought up by her!)
made with

ORANGE JUICE

+

SPINACH

+

APPLE SAUCE
=
ALEXA'S MONSTER DRINK

She was so proud of it, and that she thought it up on her own, and that it actually tasted yummy! :)

Daddy-less

I'm not going to lie, I really like 5:00pm--
It's when Alexa, Karli, and I can expect to see Daddy come home.
We are so lucky that Tyler has the job he does, and that we have him home every night and on the weekends...
I am reminded of this right now because we were daddy-less last night.
Yes, we survived.
And I can't complain too much, because I know so many families whose Dad's travel regularly...
We are just excited for our Dad to come home!

Last Shebang of Summer

What a great way to end the summer! We took off to St. George for the weekend with some of my side of the family. We spent two "fun in the sun" days at Sand Hollow Reservoir, and then did some other "musts" the following day. The weather was beautiful and the company was great. We had a fun time.
The Krommenhoek girls who were there...someone said "serious"

Our "babysitters" :)
It was nice having others around to entertain our little ones once and awhile!
The SAND was definitely a highlight for our girls!
This shows you how Karli was on the boat this trip...didn't like it that much! She couldn't handle not being free to wander wherever she wanted, and whenever she tried she'd fall! Poor girl! As soon as she got on the beach her whole mood would change--she was granted her freedom once again!

Our group--Kaci, Sara, Savannah (Sara's friend), Mama K, T, K, A, K, Laini (Amy's friend), and Amy-- right after climbing up the "narrows" (aka the split in the rock)!
Gotta love St George!
Now, bring on the FALL!
Beautiful colors
crisp air
warm, cozy clothes
fun holidays
yummy food
...thinking positive! :)
